These Terms govern your purchase and use of the Ashley desktop application ("the Software"). By installing or using Ashley you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software, and request a refund per Section 5.
Ashley is a desktop AI companion produced and operated by a solo indie developer based in Belgium. Contact: ashleyia2c@gmail.com. Hereafter "we", "us", "Ashley IA".
The merchant of record for your purchase is Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, Inc., and its EU entity as applicable), which handles billing, tax collection, and primary payment support.
A perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Ashley desktop application on up to three (3) devices you personally control. The license includes free updates for the lifetime of the product. There is no subscription; it is a one-time purchase.
The Software is a client that connects to third-party AI services (currently xAI's Grok, and optionally ElevenLabs for premium voice) using API keys that you provide. We do not resell or provide those services. You are responsible for your own usage costs with xAI and ElevenLabs under their respective terms.
Upon purchase, you receive a unique license key by email from Lemon Squeezy. You activate that key in Ashley on your device, which consumes one of your three activation slots. Slots can be freed by deactivating a device from the Ashley settings or from your Lemon Squeezy customer portal.

Ashley includes a personality with mood and affection mechanics. All interactions are between you and a fictional character implemented by a language model. Nothing Ashley says constitutes professional advice — medical, legal, financial, or otherwise.
We offer a refund under two cumulative conditions:
To request a refund, email ashleyia2c@gmail.com with your order number. You may be asked to provide a screenshot of Settings → Usage showing your current message count. Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy and typically arrive within 5–10 business days.
Ashley is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not warrant that it will meet your expectations, that it will be error-free, that it will work on any specific hardware or Windows build, or that it will not cause any particular outcome in the applications it controls via the Actions feature. We specifically do not guarantee the output of the AI models used (xAI Grok), which may produce factually incorrect, biased, or inappropriate responses.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ashley IA is not liable for any indirect, consequential, incidental, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the Software, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
Our total aggregate liability for direct damages is limited to the amount you paid for the license (currently €19.99). This limitation does not apply to liability for gross negligence, intent, or any liability that cannot be limited under Belgian law.
The Actions feature of Ashley executes commands on your computer at your instruction (opening apps, closing tabs, typing text, etc.). You accept that these actions may have consequences in your operating system or installed applications, and that you are responsible for the instructions you give.
Ashley bundles and relies on open source components listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt included in the installation. Your use of those components is governed by their respective licenses. You also indirectly use the services of xAI, optionally ElevenLabs, Lemon Squeezy, and GitHub — each governed by their own terms.
Ashley includes an auto-updater that checks for new versions and installs them with your confirmation. We may add, modify, or remove features over time to improve the product, to fix bugs, or to respond to changes in the third-party services Ashley relies on.
If these Terms change materially, we will announce it in the application and on this page. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
You may stop using Ashley at any time and uninstall it; your license key remains valid for future reinstalls. We may terminate your license if you materially breach these Terms, in which case you will cease using the Software. Sections 6, 7, 8, and 12 survive termination.
See our Privacy Policy for a detailed description of data handling. In short: your conversations and memories stay on your computer; we receive only your purchase email via Lemon Squeezy.
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Any dispute arising from them will be submitted to the competent courts of Brussels, Belgium, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules that apply where you reside.
